What is special about Mokaflor?
Since Vasco Bernini took its first steps in a small alley behind Piazza della Signoria in 1950, Mokaflor has always been a family business and is today in its third generation. Today as then, we import coffee origins from all over the world and roast them in Florence. For over 70 years, Mokaflor has been standing for the best quality coffees made in the traditional Italian way: a slow artisanal production method with a constant quality control and passion for innovation. The best varieties of coffee, carefully researched and selected, are roasted individually to achieve the ideal profile for each of them. Vasco’s belief is still our way of making coffee: a good crema has always to be combined with a balanced taste and a perfect aroma in the cup.
What is our Philosophy?
We believe our strength lies in the product knowledge. Our goal is to transmit this knowledge to thousands of students worldwide through the trainers and the courses of the Espresso Academy, our school for coffee lovers and professionals. We’re also committed in making a sustainable and high quality coffee for our customers, focusing on traceability, fair working conditions and organically grown coffee. But, when we speak about sustainability, certifications are not enough: we support producers in the countries of origin, as well as all the players of the supply chain.
Why do we do this?
Coffee is our family history and passion. We want to give our customers a better feeling for coffee and the full awareness of what it takes to pursuit high quality: the plantation work, the careful processing methods and the roasting procedure. Mokaflor’s know-how is rooted in over 70 years experience in coffee roasting and we love sharing this heritage with our clients, students and partners worldwide.
