what is so special about mokaflor?

Since Vasco Bernini took his first steps in a small alley behind the Piazza della Signoria in 1950, Mokaflor has been a family business and is now in its third generation.
Today, as in the past, we import coffee origins from all over the world and roast them in Florence. For over 70 years, Mokaflor has been synonymous with the best coffees produced in the traditional Italian way: a slow, artisanal production method with constant quality control and a passion for innovation.
The best coffees, carefully researched and selected, are individually roasted to achieve the optimum profile for each of them. Vasco’s conviction is still our way of making coffee: A good crema must always be combined with a balanced taste and a perfect aroma in the cup.

what is our philosophy?

We believe that our strength lies in our product knowledge. Our aim is to impart this knowledge to thousands of students around the world through the trainers and courses at the Espresso Academy, our school for coffee lovers and professionals. We are also committed to producing sustainable, high-quality coffee for our customers, focusing on traceability, fair working conditions and organically grown coffee. But when it comes to sustainability, certifications are not enough: We support producers in the countries of origin and all players in the supply chain.

Why are we doing this?

Coffee is our family history and passion. We want to give our customers a better feel for the coffee and make them fully aware of what it takes to achieve high quality: the plantation work, the careful processing and the roasting process.
Mokaflor’s expertise is based on over 70 years of experience in coffee roasting and we are happy to share this heritage with our customers, students and partners worldwide.
